Jaiyana’s journey began with the amazing and influential Ballethnic Dance company in Atlanta, which was significant in shaping her skills and passion for ballet. Through this exquisite art form, Ballethnic showed her how to embrace her black beauty and the power and grace that comes with it.

Jaiyana is about to embark on an exciting new chapter in her life as a student at the renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, one of the top performing arts high schools in the country. Starting in September 2023, Interlochen will provide her with a nurturing environment where she can fully immerse herself in her passion for ballet. Inspired by the trailblazing ballerina Misty Copeland, Jaiyana aims to contribute to breaking down barriers for black ballerinas with non-traditional body types in an industry historically dominated by white artists.
